Description Job Summary: The Grinder/ Metal Finisher position is quite varied with regard to the scope of work performed. The use of various grinding tools and attachments to obtain required surface finish. Workers who are designated as Grinder/ Metal Finishers may also be tasked with other general work tasks not specifically covered under the Grinder/ Metal Finisher job description. Requirements Essential Functions of Position: · Comply with all Feldmeier safety and Company policies and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. · Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts. · Layout component locations per instructions. · Prepare work surface via cutting and finishing. · Set up and operate grinding equipment for assigned jobs. · Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area or as requested by management. · Complete all required paperwork and properly log time into the MES system, logging on and off. Minimum Qualifications: · Previous fabricating experience · Ability to read measuring tapes and operate tools- grinder, and welding torch. Preferred Qualifications: · 2 or more years of Grinding experience · 2 or more years of fabrication and blueprint reading. Physical Requirements: · Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day. · Occasional lifting, carrying, and maneuvering up to 50 pounds. · Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and platforms for elevated work. · Walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, balancing, stooping, lie down inside or under vessel and twisting while performing required job tasks. · Being mindful of chemical safety and use proper PPE when required. · Being able to hold a 20lbs grinder for prolonged periods, while applying force.

Responsibilities

The Grinder/Metal Finisher performs varied tasks involving the use of grinding tools to achieve required surface finishes, and may also be assigned general work tasks outside the core description. Essential functions include interpreting blueprints, setting up and operating grinding equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety policies.
