JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Metal Installer with experience in flat roofing systems to join our roofing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of metal components on flat roofs, including flashing, coping, edge metal, and other architectural metal systems. This position requires attention to detail, knowledge of safety procedures, and proficiency in working with various types of metals and tools, including various types of lifts. Travel within GTHA.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a metal installer or sheet metal worker in a roofing or construction setting.
  • Knowledge of low-slope/flat roofing systems and metal installation techniques.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
  • Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid G driver’s license.
  • Valid Working at Heights certificate is required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly.
  • Able to climb ladders, work at heights, and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Install metal flashing, edge metal, coping caps, and other metal components on flat roofs.
  • Fabricate and cut metal materials using hand and power tools (snips, brakes, shears, etc.).
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications and local building codes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including tidying up work areas at the end of use.
  • Follow Ontario Health & Safety Act (OSHA) safety standards and company safety policies at all times.
  • Collaborate with roofing crew members and forepersons to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Perform routine inspections and report any issues or inconsistencies.
  • Load and unload materials and equipment as needed.
  • Measure up sites for all metal fabrication and installation details.
