On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit a Metal Polisher. This role focuses on enhancing the finish and surface quality of stainless steel fabrication components used in catering and display equipment lines.

• Prepare metal surfaces (e.g., stainless steel): cleaning, degreasing, and smoothing prior to polishing.
• Execute polishing tasks using manual and machine methods (e.g., abrasive belts, polishing wheels, buffing compounds) to achieve high-finish stainless steel surfaces.
• Conduct final inspections to ensure surfaces meet designated quality standards—smoothness, visual appeal, and defect-free condition.
• Collaborate with welders, fabrication engineers, and production staff to integrate polishing into production workflows, especially on sinks, hot counters, bespoke servery units, and drop-in food displays.
• Set up and maintain polishing equipment—ensuring safety procedures and cleanliness standards are upheld.
• Monitor the quality of incoming and outgoing parts; identify surface imperfections early and initiate corrective actions.
• Maintain a safe and organised working environment, following ISO-compliant procedures and PPE protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed (parts, hours, materials used, quality checks) to support traceability and continuous improvement.

  Mon – Thurs 7.00am – 16.15pm
  Fri – 7.00am – 12.00pm
  Rate of pay:
  £12.50 - £13.50 + Overtime 1.5/2x
  This is a temp - perm position for the right candidate.
