SUMMARY:

Combination of the jobs:
Buffer & Machine Operator & Tube Bender/Cutter & Welder I & Fabricator
Responsible for metal fabrication, assembly and repair. Will work with both small and large parts. Will need to bend tubing, machine various parts, weld parts together, buff, and fine finish parts.
Main Responsibilities:
This is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all the “essential
functions” for purposes of the ADA.
· Must be properly trained and forklift certified for this job
· Must be trained in welding and machine operation
· We will provide training and testing for driving and operating forklift
· Follows the proper PPE requirements when performing work
· Become proficient in operating all power and hand tools necessary for work
· Reads over the supply list and can gather supplies, and check off items as they are completed
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process
· Must be able to move equipment around in a small areas of building
· Will move various media of materials to various platforms in building
· Must be able to move aluminum and stainless-steel bins around the facility with a forklift
· Must be able to push or pull 75 + pounds with the forklift safely
· Must be able to move parts by hand as well as with the forklift
· Responsible for tacking, finishing, and welding of stainless steel and aluminum parts
· Ability to move jigs alone and with team
· Brings parts to the next area they are needed
· Ability to meet or exceed deadlines for production requirements set forth by the master production schedule
· May need to ascend ladder or step stool to access parts or materials for the job
· Measure, mark, and layout the material needed for jobs
· Ability to successfully utilize these tools: buffers, clamp, press, shears, brakes, punches, welder, solder, ruler, tape measure, wire cutters, grinder, and fastener
· Ability to operate various machines needed to complete work: forklift, drill press, multi-drill press, belt sander, punch press, lathe, band saw, sand blaster, and chop saw
· Maintain a clean and organized work area
· After workday is complete responsible for cleaning up the area, rolling up hoses and electric tools, and placing them in designated areas
· Sweep area daily and the calculate the weight of dust swept up it is logged
· Final inspection and testing of finished parts or products
· Identify and troubleshoot issues or defects in metal products and make necessary repairs and adjustments
· All other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
· Must be able to pass pre-employment qualifications
· Must be able to read at an 8th-grade level
· Previous work or completion of apprenticeship program or vocational training in sheet metal fabrication
· Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on new techniques, tools, or material related to metal fabrication
· Familiar with construction industry standards and regulations related to sheet metal fabrication and installation
· On-the-job training
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Understands and maintains Cruiser’s safety and housekeeping standards
· Understands and maintains Cruiser’s quality standards and applies proper procedures
· Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines for working with metal, including use of appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment)
· Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
· Must be able to push, pull, lean, squat, rotate, and pickup
· Must be able to work at various plants based on need and ability to travel if necessary
· Strong mathematical and analytical skills to calculate dimensions, angles, and quantities of materials needed
· Ability to work effectively independently or with a team
· Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize work and tasks and meet deadlines
· Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
