The Role: Metallic Component & Tooling Engineer What will you do? Define the needs of new tools (renewal, capacity, productivity, localization, etc) each year and regular review Launch and buy off tools with technical and financial study, follow up according to the needs and schedule Develop Soft Tooled parts (Laser cut, Turret Punching process) Maintain tool condition and perform tooling appraisal periodically as well as give tooling action recommendations to vendors Maintain tooling data accuracy by leveraging the VTM database Perform audits on tooling, machine, process and suppliers Establish and follow the Tool audit plan Perform tooling audit and complete audit report with actions (if needed) to ensure tooling condition and avoid tool breakdown Identify cost and quality improvement projects Support CS&Q, SCP, Production, Technical and Purchasing teams for tooling-related activities Issue tooling contract and engage supplier (tool maker and tool processor) to sign tooling contract otherwise define actions and follow up until it is acceptable for all parties Establish a tool maintenance plan with a maintenance budget Who would be successful? Bachelor's degree, with specialization in Tooling, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or related field 5 years in stamping tool making/operating or part fabrication process, with Surface treatment and Heat Treatment background, is a plus Component Cost structure, Mechanical design, Continuous improvement and Kaizen Stamping tool management skills, Material selection, Engineering drawing (ISO8015), Tooling issue solving skill, Stamping mold structure Flexible in handling multiple projects simultaneously Can stand in high demand phase of work Must be amenable to work in Rosario, Cavite What’s in it for me?
