Description
As a ‘Metalworks Estimator’ (Aluminium), your primary role will be to prepare accurate and well-defined takeoffs of Aluminium Façade Features (Metalworks). A few examples are balustrades, screens, fences, battens, privacy screens, gates and others as instructed. You will work under the direction of our Australian based ‘Chief Metalworks Estimator’ who will nominate what products are required on a project-to-project basis as well as when take-offs are required to be submitted. Submission dates are extremely important; they are not negotiable and will need to be met. Quantifying format of product types will be agreed upon between yourself and our Metalworks Estimator. On a day-to-day basis you will report to our Quantity Surveyor (Glazing) for general assistance and support. Capabilities Able to scrutinise, comprehend and interpret complete project documentation i.e. architectural drawings, specifications and others. Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings to identify scope and material requirements. Prepare precise and detailed quantity take-off sheets for items such as balustrades, screens, fences, battens, privacy screens, gates, and other components as instructed. Ensure all take-offs are clear, accurate, and compliant with project specifications and standards. Present take-offs clearly and professionally to enable accurate quotations from third-party suppliers. Collaborate effectively with internal teams to clarify design details or resolve documentation discrepancies. Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and completed take-offs. Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating templates, processes, and documentation standards. Skills Expert abilities in Microsoft Excel and basic PDF software. Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, CostX or similar software could be advantageous but not a core requirement. Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Teams for professional communication and documentation. Strong ability to read, interpret, and extract relevant information from architectural and structural drawings.
