Gulf-California Broadcast Company in Palm Springs/Thousand Palms, California is searching for a Meteorologist/Multi Media Journalist to join our news team. This employee will present up-to-date and conversational weather forecasts and produce reports on local news. Our ideal candidate is an experienced weathercaster who can tell an interesting an informative weather story. We are a Digital First newsroom and expect viewer engagement on all platforms. We are looking for someone who has experience in a broadcast newsroom, is passionate about journalism, and is a self-starter who knows how to develop sources and enterprise stories. We are ready to train a coachable candidate to shoot and edit. The ideal candidate will have: * Background in meteorology or related study * Experience producing and presenting weather in broadcast news * Strong writing and communication skills * Engaging on-air presence * Ability to handle breaking news and unexpected changes * Critical thinking abilities and strong editorial judgment * A commitment to digital content * Understanding of newscast production * A positive attitude and strong work ethic   Newsroom employees are expected to be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and early or late shifts. Spanish proficiency is a plus. Our newsroom is unique as we are home to local news on ABC, CBS, FOX, and Telemundo affiliates.
