Description
The Grenada Airports Authority (GAA) invites applications for the position of Meteorology Cadet. This entry-level role is designed for individuals passionate about weather science, aviation safety, and learning the fundamentals of meteorology. You will receive hands-on training and mentorship while contributing to essential weather reporting tasks, in preparation for further training to acquire the competencies required to become a Meteorology Entry-Level Technician. Key Responsibilites Accompanies the Meteorological Assistant on duty when observations are being made. Transmits weather on the COROBOR or EDIS. Keeps continuous watch to note and report changes in weather at the station to the Assistant on duty. Participates in in-house training. Five (5) subject passes, including English Language, Mathematics, and Physics. A keen interest in weather science, aviation safety, or related fields. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Effective communication and analytical skills. Bonding: Selected candidates will be required to sign a bond agreement before the start of training, committing to serve with the Authority for a specified period upon successful completion.
Responsibilities
The Meteorology Cadet will accompany the Meteorological Assistant during weather observations and transmit weather data. They will also monitor and report changes in weather conditions at the station.
