Summary The Meter Technician I performs essential maintenance on water meters and service lines, addressing exchanges, repairs, leaks, cutoffs, and relocations. This role also provides crucial support to the Metering Department through meter reading, completing various work orders, performing re-reads, and managing water service disconnections and reconnections. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conducts water meter maintenance, including meter exchanges, repairs, leak remediation, service line cutoff repair/replacement, and meter relocations Provides support to the Metering Department encompassing water meter reading, miscellaneous work order fulfillment, re-reads, and water service Disconnection/Reconnection Follows city policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Demonstrated experience in plumbing or similar technical roles requiring work with water systems Preferred Qualifications Experience with water meter operation and maintenance Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations Valid driver’s license TCEQ License Class D Water or the ability to obtain within six months Thank you for your interest in the position.
