We are seeking someone to lead and inspire our Metering, Settlement, and Imbalance teams, driving operational excellence and supporting the delivery of our ambitious business plans across both Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Generation portfolios. This pivotal role will shape and deliver strategies that enhance performance, ensure compliance, and reduce the cost to serve through transformational change. As the Metering & Settlement Manager, you will take ownership of metering and settlement operations, championing customer excellence, data integrity, and regulatory compliance while leading a high-performing team aligned to SmartestEnergy’s core values. You’ll play a key role in industry engagement — from managing Elexon relationships to supporting major change initiatives such as MHHS and SMETS2 rollout — ensuring our systems, processes, and people are set up to deliver reliable, accurate, and efficient outcomes. Proven leadership experience in a fast-growing, medium-to-large business environment (£250m+ turnover), managing senior teams and driving performance; Strong track record in leading operational change — implementing, embedding, and sustaining improvements across multiple teams; In-depth knowledge of the electricity (and gas) markets, with technical expertise in Metering, Settlement, and Imbalance for complex, high-value customers; Skilled in data accuracy and integrity management across multiple systems, ensuring alignment with industry standards; Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including presenting to senior audiences and influencing at all levels. hat sets us apart?
