JOB OVERVIEW

The Component Repair Business Unit (CRBU) at FTAI Aviation is seeking an experienced Methods Agent with a broad knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, sheet metal, and inspection. This role is central to driving process improvement, standardization, and operational efficiency across multiple manufacturing areas within our aerospace repair and maintenance operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role within the aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing industries, with hands-on knowledge of various manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing methods and process optimization, with a solid understanding of machining, welding, sheet metal work, and inspection practices.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for technical drawing review and simple design modifications.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Quantum or SAP preferred) and MS Office.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or continuous improvement experience is an asset.
  • Bilingual in French and English, with strong communication skills for collaborating across teams.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS IN QUEBEC:

Intermediate level knowledge of English is necessary for aeronautical personnel to meet regulatory requirements, understand technical procedures and instructions, and document entries regarding work performed on the aeronautical product for customers outside Quebec.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes, covering a range of disciplines, including machining, welding, sheet metal work, and inspection practices.
  • Collaborate with shop floor personnel and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot production challenges, ensuring smooth operations and minimal downtime.
  • Create clear, detailed work instructions, process flows, and technical documentation to support technicians, welders, machinists, and other operators in their daily tasks.
  • Conduct time studies and process evaluations to identify areas for improvement, with a focus on reducing cycle time, material waste, and costs.
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to establish and maintain high standards for product quality and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Actively participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement events, implementing lean manufacturing principles to streamline workflows and enhance overall productivity.
  • Provide technical support for First Article Inspections (FAI) and ongoing inspections to ensure quality control throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Evaluate tooling, fixtures, and equipment needs, working closely with tool design and maintenance teams to implement effective solutions for each production area.
