Position Title: Methods Planner Location of Position: United States -- Wisconsin -- Sturgeon Bay Business Group: Planning, Scheduling, & Production Control Position Type: Full-Time; Exempt Reports To: Planning Manager Position Summary: This position is responsible for the efficient operation of FBS through system and process development, definition, and coordination at our vast, 63-acre facility. Significant heavy manufacturing takes place both in several fab shops, as well as on the waterfront. The successful candidate will support the 1,000+ working men and women on our waterfront by supporting the core business functions of strategic integration, continuous improvement, production engineering and design, production planning and manufacturing. Detailed Description: · Development of shipyard strategic plans to ensure the achievement of business objectives. · Support the development and maintenance of key dates and milestones for each project. · Development of integrated business operating plans and schedules. · Study and implementation of Capex investment (with ROI analysis). · Develop of IMS activity and WBS structure in coordination with the PP&C Department. · Development of facility investment plans in coordination with the Facilities Department. · Identify, evaluate, develop, and report on Lean Manufacturing, Process Improvement, and SS initiatives. · Definition of project specific Build Strategy for Structure and Outfitting, Shipbuilding Units and Zones, and Standard Production Cycle Plan. · Support and coordinate implementation of the Build Strategies, Product Oriented Drawings, and Palletization with the Engineering Department. · Identify and conduct research and development of processes and technology for improved production. · Define the Workstation Yard Map and Workstation Plan, and perform a significant re-plan if needed. · Identify, elicit, evaluate, develop and manage ManTech and NSRP projects. · Identify, evaluate, and develop "Micro-Methods" of production to improve efficiency. · Identify and implement an efficient manufacturing processes and technology through industrial engineering. · Develop plans for manufacturing support activities (ship ventilation plans, module move and transport, barges, platforms, etc.) · Design of Jigs and fixtures for construction and unit transport. · Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures. · Ability and willingness to engage in highly energetic pursuits on the waterfront. · Maintain a commitment to and promote the Quality and Environmental, Health & Safety Policies. · Abide by all organizational policies and procedures.
