Description
This position performs aquatic duties and oversees participants at the Centennial Sportsplex and ensures that safety measures are always exercised.   Duties include but are not limited to: * Enforcing all rules, regulations and procedures governing the aquatic facilities, including compliance with health, safety & building codes. * Rescuing swimmers in distress * Administering first aid * Administering CPR or AED if necessary * Calling for emergency personnel when needed. * Cleaning pool and deck area, bathrooms floors & fixtures, storeroom and office on a daily basis. * Checking all equipment for proper operation periodically during absence of Pool Manager and reports any problems to designated supervisor. * Assists in the operation of revenue producing facility * Greeting, assisting, signing in customers * Assisting with special events setup, operation and take down * Must be able to operate cash register, computer and other related equipment * Monitor and report building upkeep * Monitor programs for safety and proper service * Other job-related duties that may be required.   Work hours vary and will include weekend, evenings, and holiday work.   Up to 30 hours per week.  Rate of pay is $18 per hour. (3 positions available) Minimum age 15.  Individual must possess American Red Cross Lifeguard Training certification or equivalent prior to appointment.  Parks will assist in obtaining ARC certification. The POWER Youth program, previously known as Opportunity NOW, provides career exploration and work experience activities for youth 14 to 24 years old. The name POWER Youth was selected by the peer youth leadership team based on how they view themselves and their future.
