How this role supports our mission:  The Community Engagement Coordinator will provide case management, support services and outreach to homeless youth age 12-24 associated with the HUD grant- ‘Goodwill’s Youth Reengagement Project for Homeless Youth’ at Goodwill’s Youth Reengagement Centers. This position will oversee the hiring, training and ongoing management of three part-time youth Peer Outreach and Engagement Specialists, as well as the development and coordination of a youth leadership committee comprised of 10-12 youth. The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, conducting community outreach to potential service partners and participants; planning and hosting community resource and service-learning events; providing service linkages and referrals to youth; and coordinating the activities of the Peer Outreach and Engagement Specialists. The Community Engagement Coordinator will ensure compliance with accepted standards, federal/state requirements, HUD grant deliverables and Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona’s policies and procedures. What we require from you:  Special requirements:  Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or Education, or related field preferred.  Minimum two (2) years’ experience serving at-risk youth, preferred  Required to obtain AZ Department of Public Safety fingerprint and background clearance within 90 days of employment Additional Requirements: Ability and willingness to perform all job tasks with a positive attitude.  Communicate in an honest, polite, and well-intentioned manner.  Do the right thing.  Support a caseload of up to 75 homeless youth, aged 12-24, related to the HUD grant With the support of the Youth Reengagement Program Manager and Peer Youth Outreach and Engagement Specialists, develop and oversee a youth leadership committee of 10-12 youth to assist with program development and ongoing evaluation  Guide and direct three Peer Youth Outreach and Engagement Specialists in their roles including supporting youth in identifying opportunities for potential projects, partnerships or engagement; collaborating to develop weekly schedules and priorities; and ongoing oversight of staff performance evaluations, goals & objectives, and training Collaborate with TPCH youth action committee on an ongoing basis    Conduct VI-SPDAT assessments / coordinate and implement supportive services such as housing, behavioral health services, wellness services and other basic needs throughout youth programs Provide positive reinforcement for the youth’s progress, problem solve issues or concerns, and update the youth’s academic and/or employment plan to reflect progress and goals Maintain current and accurate participant records and data using the Apricot System, HMIS system, and other systems and tracking methods, as necessary, and produce data reports, as needed Coordinate with other Goodwill staff assigned to the participants’ success plan. Ensure participant is meeting the minimum requirements for their respective Goodwill programs and grant deliverables  Complete reports and all appropriate paperwork in an accurate and timely manner Proactively identify and address potential problems and/or negative behaviors before they impact other participants Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision.  Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and environments.  Ability to read, write, and speak English; follow written and verbal instruction. Bilingual a plus. Possess current AZ driver’s license, and personal transportation with proof of auto insurance.
