SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven expertise in optical and tactile metrology equipment.
  • Strong understanding of Automotive measurement principles, GD&T, engineering drawings, and build processes.
  • Proficient in Polyworks, GOMinspect, PowerInspect; basic knowledge of CATIA and KVS desirable.
  • Skilled in analysing and resolving dimensional deviation issues using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations across technical and non-technical audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HNC in an engineering discipline or equivalent recognised apprenticeship.
  • Training through the National Physical Laboratory or equivalent practical experience is advantageous.
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Metrology Dimensional Analysis Engineer will support quality improvements across our Automotive client’s product portfolio by delivering robust dimensional measurement and analysis. This role is instrumental in supporting the Production Emergence Plan milestones through meticulous vehicle/part measurement, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver dimensional analysis projects in line with Automotive Metrology Process Description.
  • Conduct whole vehicle/part measurement activities using Polyworks, GOMinspect, and other metrology tools.
  • Perform root cause analysis for dimensional/functional issues, create reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure parts and systems meet quality standards.
  • Build and measure components or designated vehicle areas, interpreting deviations and build quality issues.
  • Maintain and evaluate measurement equipment and software.
