Description:
METROLOGY ENGINEER – FULL-TIME, ON-SITE (DERBY)
We are looking for a Metrology Engineer to join our team at AddQual in Derby. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, applying advanced measurement techniques across industries such as aerospace, power, and medical.
As a Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting and managing precision measurements and data analysis of components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with specifications using AddQual’s industry-leading metrology systems and processes. You will play a key role in developing measurement methodologies, improving accuracy, and driving efficiency across projects.

Our mission is to help customers reduce costs, minimize waste, and shorten lead times through the power of metrology and data-driven decision-making.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience in metrology, precision measurement, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of optical (GOM) measurement systems and CMMs (MCOSMOS, PC-DMIS).
- Experience with GOM Inspect, PolyWorks, MCOSMOS, or similar metrology software.
- Understanding of non-contact data capture, such as 3D optical scanning (GOM, Alicona).
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience in data-driven analysis and process development.
- Experience working with regulatory requirements (AS9100, ISO 13485, IATF 16949 preferred).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and manage precision measurements and data analysis of components and assemblies.
- Develop and optimize measurement processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Design measurement systems tailored to specific project needs.
- Analyze data using GOM Inspect, PolyWorks, MCOSMOS, or similar metrology software.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on projects in aerospace, power, and medical industries.
- Contribute to product development processes, including design, prototyping, and productionization.
- Conduct root cause investigations and develop corrective/preventative actions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, including AS9100, ISO 13485, and IATF 16949.
- Liaise with suppliers and customers to maintain quality and technical integrity.
