METROLOGY ENGINEER – FULL-TIME, ON-SITE (DERBY)

We are looking for a Metrology Engineer to join our team at AddQual in Derby. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, applying advanced measurement techniques across industries such as aerospace, power, and medical.
As a Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting and managing precision measurements and data analysis of components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with specifications using AddQual’s industry-leading metrology systems and processes. You will play a key role in developing measurement methodologies, improving accuracy, and driving efficiency across projects.
At AddQual, we bring decades of expertise in Aerospace & Medical component manufacturing, utilizing cutting-edge non-contact scanning, 3D printing, and digital design tools. Our mission is to help customers reduce costs, minimize waste, and shorten lead times through the power of metrology and data-driven decision-making.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience in metrology, precision measurement, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of optical (GOM) measurement systems and CMMs (MCOSMOS, PC-DMIS).
  • Experience with GOM Inspect, PolyWorks, MCOSMOS, or similar metrology software.
  • Understanding of non-contact data capture, such as 3D optical scanning (GOM, Alicona).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience in data-driven analysis and process development.
  • Experience working with regulatory requirements (AS9100, ISO 13485, IATF 16949 preferred).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
  • Perform and manage precision measurements and data analysis of components and assemblies.
  • Develop and optimize measurement processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Design measurement systems tailored to specific project needs.
  • Analyze data using GOM Inspect, PolyWorks, MCOSMOS, or similar metrology software.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on projects in aerospace, power, and medical industries.
  • Contribute to product development processes, including design, prototyping, and productionization.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and develop corrective/preventative actions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, including AS9100, ISO 13485, and IATF 16949.
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers to maintain quality and technical integrity.
