  We are unique Join our organisation and experience a culture that fosters camaraderie and personal growth, serving and connecting the regional communities of NSW and southern QLD. Enjoy work-life balance and training and development opportunities across a diverse range of career pathways.    About the role   We are currently recruiting a Metrology Officer to join Metering Services team in Tamworth NSW.    The Metrology Officer is accountable for providing Test and Calibration services supporting compliance and traceability compliance requirements with electricity meters and handheld instrumentation from within the Laboratory environment.    The Officer will be required to provide technical knowledge and skill in application of work to comply with requirements nominated by the Laboratory’s accrediting author   Key responsibilities:    * Be responsible for the checking and calibration and/or re-verify metering equipment and instrumentation against manufacturer and other required specifications under all business, national and industry required accreditation requirements  * Undertake the testing and minor repair of metering equipment and instrumentation against manufacturer and other required specifications under all business, national and industry required accreditation requirements  * Undertake the review of emerging technologies in the metering and instrumentation area to evaluate effectiveness and suitability for future serviceability within the business  * Evaluate the serviceability of metering and instrumentation equipment and technologies to confirm operational parameters are current and with-in serviceable guidelines  * Develop test and calibration routines for metering equipment and instrumentation  * Review manufacturer and other industry Lab Calibration Reports for compliance to establish benchmarks for future reference determine suitability for use by the business    About You   Ideally, you will have demonstrated experience in roles within the metering services industry, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to electrical utility meters and the responsibilities of a Legal Metrology Officer. You will possess working knowledge of metering and instrumentation principles, as well as expertise in measurement uncertainty reporting and meter configuration programs for test environments.
