About the Role  The Metrology Specialist is a technical expert who develops inspection plans, programs automated inspection systems, and ensures products meet customer and regulatory requirements. This role elevates Able’s inspection capability by driving improvements in measurement technologies, mentoring cross-functional teams, and strengthening overall product conformance.   Essential Function / Duties* CMM Programming & Metrology * Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to perform advanced inspection. * Develop automated programs for CMMs (PC-DMIS or equivalent) and vision systems (Measure X, Zone3, etc.). * Implement emerging metrology technologies to improve accuracy, efficiency, and throughput. * Build, refine, and maintain inspection plans (IISs) for implants and instruments. * Manage calibration schedules and perform calibration, repair, optimization, and installation of measurement equipment. * Conduct Measurement System Analyses (Gauge R&R, capability studies, etc.) and evaluate equipment suitability. * Support Statistical Process Control through effective inspection strategies and sampling plans. Quality Control * Execute receiving, in-process, and final inspection using manual gauges, vision systems, and CMMs. * Create, review, and maintain inspection plans and quality control procedures. * Produce and approve Certificates of Conformance. * Document nonconformities and support investigations, root-cause analysis, and CAPA activities. * Audit device history records for completeness and accuracy using good documentation practices. * Assist in maintaining FDA registration and supporting other regulatory and customer quality requirements. * Manage and execute Quality Agreements for both customers and suppliers.
