As a member of the Adobe Technical Services (ATS) engineering management team, you will collaborate with multiple Commerce engineering and product management teams to understand strategic priorities and billing services needs. The successful candidate is required to have strong end-to-end subscription commerce systems experience and demonstrate the ability to convert complex business problems into solutions that meet business requirements.
As a hands-on leader, the candidate will play a key role in the transformation Adobe’s billing services from current on-premises platform to new cloud solutions. This person must have deep knowledge of commerce subscription processes and own the conversion of ATS billing services into successful high-quality cloud solutions. It is important that this person is comfortable in working across multi-functional technical teams and in mentoring other software engineers. The candidate communicates effectively, prioritizes, thinks end-to-end, leads change, and maintains relationships across the Adobe Commerce landscape. Your primary goal will be to grow your engineering team as a highly proficient respected delivery team known for building quality, scalable, innovative cloud software solutions on behalf of ATS Commerce.

Lead a team of 3 - 5 engineers based in North America through ongoing software solution delivery cycles
Ensure that software solutions are delivered with the highest quality with a focus on performance and resilience
Work effectively with Product Owner, Solution Architects, Platform Teams and ATS management in the design, delivery, and promotion of new cloud billing services
Communicate team priorities, think creatively, understand end-to-end processes, introduce change, and establish quality focused delivery processes and methodologies
Manage team performance; attract and retain talent
Mentor software engineers and establish best engineering practices for complex cloud solution delivery
Hands-on assistance in the building of complex cloud-based billing services
Lead code reviews
Mentor software engineers in the development of best-in-class cloud solutions
Provide assessments on billing services impacts for new project requests and enhancements
Evaluate, prototype, and implement solutions to meet the evolving billing services requirements
Work closely with Product Owner to establish a roadmap for the evolution of billing services to the cloud
Instill and maintain total commitment to quality and operational excellence What you need to succeed
This position requires bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or related subject area
5 + years of JAVA micro services and cloud development experience.
Experience with Commerce applications and ERP billing processes is preferred
Experience maintaining highly available, fault-tolerant, and distributed services, including familiarity with technologies and architectures like microservices, managed services, AWS, Kubernetes, New Relic, and Splunk
Knowledge of industry standard Subscription management processes, distributed microservices architecture and cloud technologies is an asset
Ability to communicate effectively and represent ESS Consumer Commerce engineering team in cross team design discussions
Experience in working alongside Product Owners and Architects to prioritize engineering backlogs
Ability to delegate tasks to engineering delivery team and provide guidance for the overall delivery lifecycle
Operate in an agile delivery framework
Proven track record in creative design and analysis in a problem solving environment
Exceptional communication (written and oral) and mentoring skills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $130,900 – $262,100 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
