The Manager, Physician Recruitment & Onboarding is responsible for leading and executing strategic initiatives related to the recruitment, hiring, and integration of physicians across Texas Children’s Hospital. This role ensures alignment with workforce planning goals and oversees the full lifecycle of physician onboarding to promote engagement, compliance, and retention. The manager designs and executes comprehensive recruitment strategies that align with clinical needs, organizational culture, and long-term growth objectives. This position serves as a key liaison between physician candidates and internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless and professional experience throughout the hiring process. The manager also champions continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and a service-oriented approach to physician engagement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Recruitment Leadership Develop and implement physician recruitment strategies in collaboration with clinical and administrative leadership. Identify staffing gaps, forecast future needs, and manage sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection processes. Maintain relationships with external partners such as residency programs, professional associations, and search firms. Ensure all recruitment activities align with organizational branding, values, and workforce goals. Physician Onboarding Oversight Oversee the end-to-end onboarding process for new physicians, ensuring timely and compliant completion of credentialing, licensure, and orientation activities. Coordinate with Medical Staff Services, Legal, and clinical departments to ensure a seamless transition. Design onboarding workflows, track progress, and evaluate effectiveness through feedback and performance metrics. Team Leadership and Collaboration Supervise recruitment and onboarding staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management. Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, compliance, and operational teams to ensure process consistency and efficiency. Serve as a liaison between physician candidates and internal stakeholders, promoting a positive candidate experience. Compliance, Reporting, and Process Excellence Ensure all recruitment and onboarding activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Maintain accurate documentation and manage data within integrated systems. Produce reports on recruitment metrics, onboarding timelines, and physician retention trends. Premium Onboarding Experience Lead the development of a high-touch, personalized onboarding experience tailored to physicians’ needs. Provide concierge-level support for relocation, credentialing, and integration into the organization. Promote engagement and connection throughout the first year to support long-term retention. Shared Accountabilities Complete timely performance appraisals for direct reports. Ensure new staff attend hospital and departmental orientation within 30 days of employment. Report financial and operational performance on a monthly basis. Prepare and submit annual operating budgets. Apply expertise in physician search strategies, candidate assessment, and talent market research to attract top-tier talent. Build credibility and trust with executives and stakeholders through sound judgment and professionalism. Knowledge and Skills Strong knowledge of human resources management principles and healthcare workforce planning. Understanding of team dynamics and employment regulations. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions. Proficiency in applicant tracking systems, word processing, and spreadsheet programs. Experience in process improvement and maintaining confidential information. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred. Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in Human Resources, Healthcare, or Business Consulting, including at least two (2) years of project and/or team leadership required Minimum of four (4) years of professional Talent Acquisition experience in a large hospital or healthcare system preferred Minimum of two (2) years of formal management or supervisory experience preferred
