Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Micro Integration Engineer to join a National Defense Contract in Midland, TX through 100% on site presence. The Micro Integration Engineer will drive hands-on manufacturing process design, continuous improvement, and root-cause analysis to support the rapid production of next-gen satellites. The Micro Integration Engineer will blend aerospace-grade precisions with high-impact engineering to support production scale-up.

Responsibilities of the Micro Integration Engineer include:

  • Evaluate new product designs for manufacturability and provide feedback to R&D Product Engineering
  • Develop and document manufacturing process, including layouts, tools, fixturing, and testing protocols
  • Conduct proof-of-concept studies to validate new ideas before full-scale implementation
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts using Lean, Six Sigma, and pFMEA methodologies to optimize safety, cost, and quality
  • Troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause corrective actions (RCCAs)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally in a liaison/concurrent engineering environment
  • Utilize tools and systems like AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Solumina (MES) and NetSuite (ERP) to manage workflows and documentation
  • Participate in safety and Kaizen initiatives, contributing to a culture of operational excellence

Qualifications of the Micro Integration Engineer include:

  • 1-3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally in the aerospace or automotive industries
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and pFMEA
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar CAD tools
  • Experience working with EERP, MES, and PLM systems (Solumina, NetSuite, …)
  • US Citizenship and excellent communication skills
  • Preferred: Experience in a liaison/concurrent engineering environment
  • Preferred: familiar with root-cause corrective actions (RCCAs) & continuous improvement initiatives
  • Background in electrical/electronic systems or coding (MATLAB, Python, …)

Compensation for the Micro Integration Engineer includes:

  • Salary Range: $80,000-100,000 depending on experience
