About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Microbiologist for a short-term contract (approximately 2-3 months) to start immediately, with a leading beverage manufacturer based in Yatala. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in ensuring product quality, food safety, hygiene standards, and microbiological compliance across all operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a microbiologist with experience in food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environments who enjoys hands-on laboratory work combined with on-site quality and hygiene support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological testing and analysis 
• Perform routine sampling, monitoring, and reporting of microbiological results
• Trend and analyse data to identify potential risks and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Support HACCP, GMP, GLP and food safety compliance programs
• Investigate microbiological and hygiene-related issues using root cause analysis techniques
• Conduct GMP inspections, audits, and hygiene surveys 
• Collaborate with Production, Packaging, Engineering, and Quality teams
• Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring testing integrity
• Promote best-practice hygiene standards to minimise contamination risks
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with laboratory and quality requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Microbial Science, or a related discipline
• Previous microbiology laboratory experience within food, beverage, pharmaceutical, environmental, or manufacturing industries
• Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP and GLP principles
• Experience performing microbiological testing and result interpretation
• Excellent reporting, problem-solving and communication skills
• High attention to detail and a commitment to quality standards
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
