MISSION OF THE ROLE The Microschool Operator serves as a serving leader responsible for cultivating a Christ-centered learning community that integrates academic excellence, character formation, and faith development. This role requires strong leadership, a coaching mindset, and deep alignment with HOPE’s values and Statement of Faith. Core Responsibilities MISSION & CULTURE LEADERSHIP * Lead the microschool in alignment with the HOPE mission, vision, values, and Statement of Faith * Model Christian character and faith in daily interactions and decision-making * Foster a culture rooted in love, trust, joy, and high expectations * Build a safe, inclusive environment where students and families feel known and valued Academic & Student Growth * Curate and facilitate student-centered learning that supports academic growth, character formation, and autonomy * Serve as a mentor and guide rather than solely a content deliverer * Monitor student progress and adapt learning experiences to meet individual needs * Celebrate progress, growth, and success * Curate rich learning opportunities through the following; * Inspire curiosity through thought-provoking questions  * Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and classroom structures    * Provide challenges, processes, and tools to support learning   * Promote critical thinking through problem-based activities * Oversee curricular choices * Execute educational decisions in the classroom    * Facilitate learning guide collaboration * Choose and execute professional development options * Oversee and guide individual learning through the following: * Monitor and support educational progress      * Create personalized plans for learners    *  Hold students accountable for personal goals  *  Lead small group instruction and one-on-one tutoring  *  Document data points to illustrate learners’ growth   * Communicate learner progress with parents   * Establish grade level/band goals/objectives * Arrange/attend meetings to support individuals *  Connect learning to the local community  through the following: *  Integrate experiences outside the classroom into the learner’s plan and portfolio    *  Identify experiences in the surrounding community that match learner needs * Meet and engage community members LEADERSHIP & COACHING MINDSET * Be a problem solver and flexible in approach * Be timely in responses and following a designated schedule * Ability to set goals for students and self * Seek and respond constructively to feedback * Engage in continuous personal, professional, and spiritual growth * Cultivate and supervise a vibrant school community  through the following: * Lead with beliefs and values rooted in scripture    * Design physical spaces that generate excitement and curiosity  * Foster a safe community and culture of care   * Craft communal habits to facilitate familiarity and friendship in the classroom  * Model restorative conversations  * Engage parents as active partners in the educational journey    * Lead and manage site staff * Manage administrative tasks (e.g., drive recruitment, oversee enrollment, and day-to-day operations) COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS * Build and sustain strong relationships with families, partners, the broader community, and the supporting school * Communicate clearly, consistently, and professionally * Navigate disagreement with humility, respect, and alignment to mission * Contribute positively to a collaborative team culture * Foster meaningful relationships by interacting with students as individuals, updating learner profiles, and reading with students  OPERATIONS & PROFESSIONAL EXCELLENCE * Demonstrate disciplined thinking, persistence, and pursuit of excellence * Maintain professionalism in communication, planning, and execution * Implement organizational systems, processes, and tools * Manage responsibilities with integrity, organization, and follow-through Mission-Critical Competencies Candidates must demonstrate alignment with the 5 Ls: * Loving – Leads with unconditional love while holding high standards * Learning – Approaches work with humility and a growth mindset * Leading – Pursues full potential and inspires others to do the same * Lasting – Builds sustainable, scalable models * Laughing – Balances urgency with joy and hope Additional competencies include: * Mission alignment and faith integration * Character formation
