REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proven experience building and deploying chatbots with Copilot Studio and Power Platform.
• Hands-on experience with Power Automate, custom connectors, and API integrations.
• Strong understanding of natural language processing and dialog flow design.
• Knowledge of Azure AI services (preferred).
• Familiarity with Power Platform governance, security, and deployment processes.
• Experience working within Azure DevOps environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT-T) Web Systems team is seeking an experienced Microsoft AI Chatbot Developer for a long-term contract position. This role focuses on designing and building intelligent conversational agents using Copilot Studio and the broader Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem, including Azure.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with Copilot Studio’s canvas interface, dialog flows, and natural language processing capabilities, as well as experience integrating chatbots with Microsoft 365 services (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook), external APIs, databases, and third-party applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-driven chatbots using Copilot Studio and the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Configure sophisticated dialog flows with branching logic, leveraging natural language processing.
• Integrate chatbots with Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft 365 services, and external systems.
• Build and maintain integrations with external APIs, databases, and third-party services using Power Automate and custom connectors.
• Apply knowledge of Azure AI services for enhanced chatbot intelligence and scalability.
• Implement Power Platform governance, security best practices, and deployment strategies across development and production environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues across systems and services.
• Collaborate with developers, business users, and IT leadership to align chatbot solutions with business needs.
