Microsoft Collaboration Ecosystem Administrator Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Collaboration Ecosystem Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our enterprise collaboration infrastructure. This role focuses on the administration of Exchange Server and SharePoint Server environments, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient communication and collaboration services for our organization. Key Responsibilities Exchange Server Administration Install, configure, and maintain Exchange Server environments across multiple versions and deployment scenarios Manage mailbox databases, public folders, and distribution groups with attention to storage optimization and performance tuning Implement and maintain email security policies, including anti-spam, anti-malware, and data loss prevention measures Configure and troubleshoot mail flow, transport rules, and connector settings for both internal and external communications Monitor system performance, capacity planning, and proactive maintenance of Exchange infrastructure Manage Exchange hybrid deployments and migrations between on-premises and cloud environments Implement and maintain high availability solutions including Database Availability Groups (DAGs) Handle backup and disaster recovery procedures for Exchange environments SharePoint Server Administration Deploy, configure, and maintain SharePoint Server farms and service applications Manage site collections, web applications, and content databases with focus on performance and scalability Configure and maintain SharePoint services including Search, User Profile Service, and Managed Metadata Implement governance policies, permissions management, and compliance features Troubleshoot SharePoint functionality, workflows, and integration issues Manage SharePoint backup and recovery operations Configure and maintain SharePoint hybrid scenarios and cloud integration Monitor farm health, performance metrics, and capacity planning Security and Compliance Implement security best practices across both Exchange and SharePoint environments Configure and maintain compliance features including retention policies, eDiscovery, and audit logging Manage certificate lifecycle and SSL/TLS configurations Ensure adherence to organizational security policies and regulatory requirements Coordinate with cybersecurity teams on threat assessment and incident response Integration and Collaboration Configure integration between Exchange and SharePoint services Manage Active Directory synchronization and authentication services Implement and maintain collaboration features including Outlook Web App, SharePoint apps, and mobile access Coordinate with other IT teams on unified communications and productivity suite integration Monitoring and Maintenance Develop and maintain monitoring solutions for proactive system health management Create and maintain detailed documentation for all administered systems Perform regular system updates, patches, and security updates following change management procedures Conduct performance analysis and optimization recommendations Manage system capacity planning and hardware lifecycle management Required Qualifications Technical Skills +6 years of hands-on experience with Exchange Server administration (2016/2019/2022) +6 years of experience with SharePoint Server administration (2016/2019/2022) Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory services Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administrative tasks Experience with SQL Server administration as it relates to SharePoint and Exchange Understanding of networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, and firewall configurations Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) Certifications (Preferred) Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Administrator Associate Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate MCSE: Productivity or equivalent legacy certifications Experience Requirements Proven experience in enterprise-level Exchange and SharePoint deployments Experience with hybrid cloud migrations and Office 365 integration Background in disaster recovery planning and implementation Experience with compliance and governance implementation in collaboration environments Project management experience for infrastructure upgrades and migrations Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field Experience with Microsoft Teams administration and integration Knowledge of additional Microsoft productivity technologies (OneDrive, Skype for Business) Experience with automation tools and infrastructure as code practices ITIL certification or familiarity with IT service management practices Experience in regulated industries with compliance requirements
