Vamonos IT is seeking a highly skilled and driven Microsoft Exchange Online Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic and rapidly growing organization. The successful candidate will serve as the cornerstone for all Exchange Online initiatives, providing deep expertise, strategic direction, and hands-on technical leadership. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange Online and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Proven track record in architecting, deploying, and managing Exchange Online environments in mid to large-scale enterprises.
  • Strong expertise in Exchange Hybrid configurations, mail flow, security, compliance, and PowerShell automation.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and identity management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to system optimization and issue resolution.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting migrations from on-premises Exchange environments to Exchange Online is highly desirable.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Exchange Online Administrator) strongly preferred.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with third-party migration and management tools (e.g., Quest, BitTitan, Mimecast).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and overall Microsoft 365 ecosystem integration.
  • Familiarity with email security solutions such as Proofpoint, Barracuda, or similar platforms
  • Experience with migration scripting and automation frameworks
  • Understanding of data loss prevention (DLP), encryption technologies, and information governance within Microsoft 365.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and optimizing hybrid identity models, including Azure AD Connect and Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and reporting tools for Exchange Online and hybrid environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to tailor technical solutions to unique business requirements and regulatory environments.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary technical authority for all aspects of Microsoft Exchange Online, including architecture, deployment, migration, integration, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Lead and manage Exchange Online projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Design and implement secure, robust, and scalable Exchange Online solutions tailored to customer and organizational needs.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including solution designs, implementation guides, operational procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide expert-level support, guidance, and mentorship to IT staff and end users on Exchange Online features, capabilities, and administration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Security, Networking, Infrastructure, and Service Desk, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of Exchange Online services.
  • Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and proactively identify areas for improvement, optimization, and automation.
  • Manage and support Exchange Hybrid configurations, mail flow, security policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Stay current with advancements in Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online, providing recommendations for adoption of new features and technologies.
  • Assist with incident response, root cause analysis, and disaster recovery planning related to Exchange Online services.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training sessions for technical teams and end users.
  • Support internal Vamonos IT initiatives and operations as needed.
  • Support the Vamonos IT business development initiatives and team.
  • Engage/complete continuing education/certification processes as prescribed by customer and/or Vamonos IT.
