We are seeking a highly experienced Microsoft Resident Engineer to lead and support the consolidation of four existing Microsoft on-premises Active Directory (AD) domains and mail servers into a single unified environment. This role is 100% on-premises, with no cloud integration, and requires the engineer to be on-site full-time for five years in a fully air-gapped environment. The engineer will be responsible for design, implementation, migration, and ongoing support of Microsoft services, ensuring secure, stable, and efficient operations across the consolidated infrastructure. Tasks Design, implement, and manage the Active Directory infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security. Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation of administrative tasks within the Microsoft environment. Provide expert-level support for Active Directory, including troubleshooting, patch management, and upgrades. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Active Directory with other IT systems and applications. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for identity management and access control. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in managing and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory environments, including Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and domain controller configuration. Strong understanding of network protocols, DNS, DHCP, and other core networking services as they relate to Active Directory. Experience with identity and access management solutions, including security best practices and compliance requirements.
