BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor degree and 5 years’ experience or Associate degree and 7 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 9 years’ experience
• U.S. Citizenship required; Must have the ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) clearance
• Experience with IT infrastructure
• Experience with Windows servers
• Knowledge of Microsoft administration tools
• Strong understanding of change, release, and configuration management, and their interaction
• Knowledge of Client business environment and requirements
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and use of judgment
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed work environment/self-starter

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of ServiceNow
• Knowledge of security fundamentals
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals
• Knowledge of cloud operations
• Possess an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations 4 certification or the ability to obtain within one month

ABOUT THE ROLE

Peraton is seeking a Microsoft Windows Engineerto join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This individual is responsible for supporting the Application Support team for operations and engineering. The Windows engineer will be responsible for supporting the operations and maintenance of the Windows operating systems.

DAY TO DAY WORK RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows servers (2016-2019)
• Participate in incident management activities for Windows servers
• Configuring and maintain successful backups for Windows servers
• Participate in defining Windows server requirements, acquisition, installation, and configuration
• Participate in the documentation of activities, system changes, procedures, policies, and standards for the Windows architecture
• Setting up and maintaining Windows server accounts
• Manage installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and provide configuration and enhancements in support of the customer application teams
• Involved in implementation of security measures on Windows servers
• Provide technical expertise, respond to taskings, etc.
• Work closely with IT operation delivery teams, project managers, solution engineers and government counterparts to ensure approved scheduled maintenance is completed
• Interact with the customer on an as needed basis regarding Windows servers
• Communicate status of ongoing work and any issues that arise to management in a timely manner
