Location: Liverpool/Chester/Wales Contract: Full time Salary: Competitive (DOE) Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Microtunnelling Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing microtunnelling projects, ensuring the efficient and safe installation of tunnels around the GCC . This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to solve on-site challenges effectively. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Design: Develop detailed designs for microtunnelling projects, including tunnel alignment, equipment selection, and material specifications. Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to evaluate geological and environmental conditions. Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project goals align with technical requirements. Execution and Oversight: Supervise and coordinate microtunnelling operations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Ensuring adherence to JGL’s Microtunnelling procedure Oversee the setup and operation of microtunnelling boring machines (MTBM). Produce preconstruction documents such as Method Statements, ITP’s Monitor project progress, make adjustments as required, and resolve on-site challenges promptly. Technical Analysis: Assist with geotechnical analysis and review soil investigation reports to identify potential risks. Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to industry standards, local regulations, and environmental guidelines. Prepare technical reports, as-built documentation, and project summaries. Participate in risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies. Stakeholder Communication: Act as the technical point of contact for clients and project stakeholders. Provide regular updates to ensure alignment on timelines, deliverables, and project milestones. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 10 years of experience in microtunnelling, trenchless technology, or similar underground construction disciplines. Strong knowledge of microtunnelling boring machines (MTBM), guidance systems, and related equipment. Familiarity with geotechnical investigations Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD) Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
