Description Job Title: Mid-Level Contract Specialist Department: Operations – Services Reports To: RavenTek Program Manager Location: Remote Schedule: Monday – Friday Hours: Full-time, 40-hours/week FLSA Status: Hourly, Nonexempt Clearance: Public Trust Position Summary The Mid-Level Contract Specialist provides full life-cycle acquisition support services for federal procurement activities. This position assists with the development, review, and execution of solicitations, contracts, and related documentation in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific policies such as the Department of Education Acquisition Regulation (EDAR). The role requires strong analytical skills, independent judgement, and the ability to mentor junior specialists while ensuring compliance and efficiency in acquisition processes. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek's performance on the contract, and therefore RavenTek's mission to support the customer. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and review solicitation and contract documentation, including Statements of Work (SOW), Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE), and evaluation criteria. Conduct and document market research to support acquisition strategy and competition determinations. Perform cost/price analysis and prepare negotiation memoranda and award recommendations. Support Contract Review Board (CRB) processes and maintain contract file integrity. Assist with post-award administration, contract modifications, and close-out actions. Collaborate with program offices to ensure timely and compliant acquisition execution. Maintain accurate records in the Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS) and other agency systems. Mentor junior specialists and support knowledge sharing across the team. Stay current on updates to FAR, EDAR, and related procurement policies and procedures. Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period. Submit Monthly Status Reports on a regular basis, as required. Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly. Complete required compliance training as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge and Critical Skills Thorough understanding of FAR, EDAR, and federal acquisition lifecycle processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with contracting and program officials. Ability to perform independent analysis and make recommendations based on sound business judgement. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement systems such as FPDS, PRISM, or equivalent tools. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a remote environment. Education & Work Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Acquisition, Finance, or related field. 3-7 years of experience in federal contracting or procurement. Experience supporting cost/price analysis, solicitation preparation, and contract management. Certifications, Licenses FAC-C (Professional) or DAWIA Level II/III equivalent preferred. Special Requirements Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance. DOD clearance is preferred. Work Environment Employee will primarily work remotely in a professional home office environment with standard computer and communications equipment. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis. Physical Demands To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 20 pounds.
