DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to provide enterprise-level support for our mission-critical database systems. This senior role is integral to the team and demands strong technical expertise, proactive ownership, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service every time.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 8 years’ cumulative DBA experience with enterprise-grade database systems.
  • Proven hands-on expertise in IBM Informix (administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, upgrades).
  • Strong knowledge of database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (HA/DR) strategies.
  • Proficiency in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
  • Understanding of operating systems (Linux/Unix/Windows) and their impact on database performance.
  • Experience with database monitoring tools and proactive capacity/performance management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Demonstrated experience in working within ITIL/incident & problem management frameworks.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams while also functioning as a technical lead when required.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively with the team to ensure service levels (SLA) are consistently met.
  • Take ownership of incidents, problems, and service requests, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Participate in an on-call roster to provide 24x7 database support.
  • Perform technical problem-solving, root cause analysis, and proactive performance tuning.
  • Manage and deliver assigned tasks, changes, incidents, and problem records with accountability.
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot database performance issues to maintain optimal system health.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in database support and operations.
