You are an experienced project and/or field manager with 5-10 years of experience managing environmental projects, contracts and related technical tasks—primarily in support of our environmental consulting work for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and other Federal, State and local government agencies. This is a full-time management positions in our downtown Chicago, IL office, working with scientists and project managers who are experts in environmental engineering/science, hydrogeology, geology, chemistry, soil science, sampling and analysis, hazardous waste investigations, remediation, risk assessments and public outreach. QualificationsWhat does your day/week look like? You will perform, lead, evaluate and prepare environmental investigation and remediation work plans, designs and reports You will develop strategies for the remediation and closure of large CERCLA and RCRA-regulated hazardous waste sites You will evaluate site documentation for compliance with federal, state and local standards You will write reports and oversee teams performing field investigation/remediation activities You will lead, oversee and supervise field investigations and efforts What do you need for this amazing opportunity? A bachelor's degree at an accredited college in environmental science, engineering or geology (master's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science or related discipline and/or a professional registration [PG/PE] preferred) A minimum of five years of experience in a variety of environmental investigation activities, such as sampling, assessments, and document review and preparation (experience working on Superfund sites, with extensive knowledge of CERCLA and/or RCRA preferred) A minimum of five years of experience in project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management Experience leading and performing field work, including soil boring and well installation and groundwater/soil/surface water/sediment sampling (soil gas/vapor and indoor air monitoring/sampling preferred), and remediation oversight Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.—including loaded coolers and equipment—work long days in the field, and walk or hike through rough and uneven terrain, woodlands, thick vegetation and on slopes, while carrying supplies Good written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines Legal U.S. citizenship, with ability to obtain and maintain state and federal security clearances A valid driver’s license and safe driving record Sound good?
