QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • 3–5+ years of IDC design experience, with successful project track records.
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD and BIM (Revit, Navisworks).
  • Deep understanding of IDC standards, Tier levels, and national/international codes.
  • Strong cost awareness, project management skills, and team leadership.
  • Professional engineering certifications (e.g., PE, P.Eng, HVAC/Electrical registration) preferred.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Mid-level Designer plays a central role in delivering medium-sized IDC projects or key subsystems within larger projects. You will solve complex technical challenges, ensure technical feasibility and cost efficiency, and mentor junior designers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead end-to-end design of mid-sized IDC projects (concept, schematic, detailed, and construction drawings).
  • Specialize in one key subsystem for large-scale projects (e.g., high-voltage power, chilled water HVAC).
  • Use BIM to produce accurate models and resolve cross-discipline conflicts.
  • Conduct detailed equipment selection, load calculations, and specification preparation.
  • Provide technical communication with clients, PMs, and contractors.
  • Review junior designers’ drawings and provide technical guidance.
  • Research new technologies and integrate innovative solutions into projects.
  • Contribute technical input during bidding and tender preparation.
