Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level or Senior Design-In Safety and Ergonomics to support Design for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) for the St. Louis Region, in Berkeley, MO or Saint Charles, MO.
This role will be the primary focal for program development design for EHS engagements and enterprise standard gated process criteria.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Human Modeling
  • Experience with Ergonomics and Human Factors in an industrial environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry or human factors
  • Cameo modeling experience
  • CATIA/3DX experience
  • Experience decomposing MIL-STD-1472 Human Engineering requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Required

Responsibilities

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (MID-LEVEL – 3):

  • Support Design for EHS (environment health and safety) integration into product development and the Enterprise Standard Gated Process
  • Partners with engineering to build EHS requirements early into program lifecycle
  • Provide EHS requirements, allocation support and validation
  • Use of digital modeling tools to support verification and validation of design requirements
  • Provide technical analysis of safety, health and environment risks to evaluate, verify and validate designs against regulations, Boeing requirements/standards and industry standards
  • Work with program and business unit EHS partners to identify and mitigate design risks into production
  • Develop processes and improvements to integrate technology and digital modeling into a systems approach to managing risks
  • Builds digital model architecture to support digital twin and model-based engineering EHS integration
  • Subject matter expert (SME) for ergonomics, human factors and workplace safety engineering
