WE ARE HIRING!

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mortgage Counselor to join our team. As a Mid-Stage Mortgage Counselor, you will be responsible for managing borrower outreach and resolving delinquent mortgage accounts between 60-89 days past due. You will engage borrowers through counseling and education, negotiate payment arrangements, and evaluate eligibility for home retention programs. If you have a strong passion for customer service, a keen understanding of regulatory requirements, and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

Requirements:

  • 6 months of experience as an Early Stage Counselor, Mortgage Collections, or equivalent experience
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Self-motivated with an understanding sense of urgency
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with high attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills to determine what is needed and where to spend effort throughout the day to maximize individual results
  • One to Three years’ experience in collections or servicing preferre

Responsibilities
  • Initiate outbound and receive inbound borrower phone calls for 60-89 days delinquent
  • Negotiate payment arrangements with borrowers to avoid mortgage delinquency
  • Follow up with borrowers on returned payments and maintain a high standard of quality during every call
  • Work to meet the borrower’s needs and maintain good customer relations while providing education and counseling as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FDCPA, RESPA, and FCRA
  • Review borrowers for home retention programs based on loan type
  • Schedule property inspections and determine property condition
  • Resolve delinquency through collection efforts and borrower assistance programs
  • Maintain a downward trend in roll rates within assigned portfolio
  • Achieve and maintain department goals and standards
  • Issue demand letters between the 65th and 75th day of delinquency
  • Other duties as assigned
