Description

SUMMARY:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting various quality control programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. Supports all departments including Materials, Engineering, New Product Design, Sales, Estimating and Quoting. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high technology, manufacturing environment and works well in a matrix structure across all levels of the organization.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

– Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
– Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate quality objectives and metrics to senior management and other stakeholders.
– Detail-oriented with a strong focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
– Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

– B.S. in Electrical, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.
– ISO training preferred.
– Minimum of 5 years of Quality Assurance experience. Working in new product development is a plus.
– Experience in cabling, module and sub-assembly testing, and inspection
– Excellent communication skills required, including being able to work with staff in China and Mexico that have English as a second language.
– Must have computer proficiency and knowledge of MS Word.
– Experience in maintaining a QMS that complies with ISO Certification

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

– Office on-site manufacturing facility.
– Domestic and international travel to engage with customers and audit suppliers.

Responsibilities

– Develop and implement quality management systems and processes to ensure product quality.
– Establish and maintain quality control standards, procedures, and documentation.
– Lead and manage the quality assurance team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
– Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
– Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and root causes of quality issues.
– Monitor, communicate and improve both customer and internal KPI’s.
– Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues.
– Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to integrate quality standards into the manufacturing process.
– Serve as the key point of contact for customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis as well as corrective and preventative action and verification.
– Train and educate employees on quality standards and best practices.
– Ensure all quality records are accurately maintained and up to date.
– Write manufacturing instructions, create drawings, write protocols for verification and validation testing, and write test reports
– Communicate effectively with customers regarding quality issues and resolutions.
– Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quality management.
