JOB DESCRIPTION:

Teach middle school science classes to students individually and in groups, utilizing inquiry based learning and adapting teaching methods to meet student’s varying needs and interests. Plan lessons for daily instruction that derive from state standards, assessments, and curriculum. Create a classroom environment that engages and supports all students in learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Stay abreast of current topics in science. Effectively prepare and use instructional materials and technology resources. Maintain appropriate expectations for all students and provide appropriate feedback. Use measures of student learning to improve instruction. Utilize strategies to meet class objectives, student needs and abilities. Effectively communicate with students, parents, and the community.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree or higher or foreign equivalent in Education, science, or related. Must possess an Educator License from the state of North Carolina. No Immigration Sponsorship. Send CV and Cover Letter to Mark Long, longm@northampton.k12.nc.us
