JOB DESCRIPTION:

Somerset Academy Central Miramar is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School ELA Teacher to join our instructional team. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging and rigorous English Language Arts instruction to students in grades 6 - 8, nurturing skills in reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking while fostering a love for literature and effective communication.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (required).
  • Valid Florida teaching certification for middle grades ELA/English (required).
  • Previous experience teaching ELA at the middle school level preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong classroom management, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to fostering literacy, critical thinking, and lifelong learning in all students.

SUMMARY

As a Middle School ELA Teacher, you will be instrumental in fostering a love for literacy and effective communication among students. Reporting to the school principal, you will utilize your core skills in classroom management and teaching to create an engaging learning environment. Your expertise in curriculum development and mentoring will enhance students’ critical thinking and writing abilities. Additionally, your relevant skills in standardized testing and special education will ensure that all students receive the support they need to succeed.
