Description Position Summary The 5th Grade Math Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based mathematics instruction to fifth-grade students while integrating a Christ-centered worldview. This role supports students as they strengthen foundational math skills, develop problem-solving abilities, and prepare for the transition into middle school. The teacher models Christlike character, fosters a structured and encouraging classroom env Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum Plan and deliver daily math lessons aligned with 5th grade standards and school curriculum. Teach core math concepts including fractions, decimals, operations, geometry, data analysis, and problem-solving. Use a variety of instructional strategies including hands-on learning, collaborative activities, and technology-based resources. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Integrate biblical principles and real-world applications into math instruction. Assessment & Progress Monitoring Assess student learning through quizzes, tests, projects, and observations. Analyze assessment data to guide instruction and provide targeted support. Communicate academic progress clearly and consistently with students and parents. Classroom Management & Student Support Establish a structured, respectful, and nurturing classroom environment. Set clear expectations that promote responsibility, independence, and accountability. Support students’ social, emotional, and spiritual development through guidance and encouragement. Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities Collaborate with grade-level teachers, specialists, and administration. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events. Maintain accurate lesson plans, grade records, and student documentation. Comply with all school policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Education, Elementary Education, Mathematics, or related field. Valid teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain). Experience teaching upper elementary or intermediate grades. A clear Christian testimony and agreement with the school’s statement of faith. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Preferred Experience teaching 5th grade math or departmentalized instruction. Familiarity with state math standards and assessment practices. Experience in a Christian or faith-based school environment.
