Duties: Teaches concepts and skills in mathematics to middle school students (Grades 5-8) utilizing course of study and curriculum adopted by The Grace School both in person and virtually. Has knowledge of and a strong interest in mathematics. Deep understanding of mathematical concepts and processes taught ability to use this knowledge to analyze students’ mathematical thinking and understandings Co-teaches with special educator on a daily basis and identifies and provides opportunities for inclusive instruction. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials that consistently contain diverse content throughout the academic year Demonstrates concepts and strategies using models, talk, reflective writing, and other available resources including technology Knowledge of developmental benchmarks (key understandings) in math education Meeting Street believes the dignity of each person is paramount. Responsibilities
The teacher will instruct middle school students in mathematics using both in-person and virtual methods. They will also co-teach with special educators to provide inclusive instruction and develop diverse lesson plans.
