The Science Teacher will provide direct instruction, model best practices, and collaborate with school staff to integrate science curriculum and learning principles throughout the school environment. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required. Master's degree in Special Education preferred Teaching license or certification, or eligibility to obtain one in the Commonwealth of Virginia Experience working with students in an educational or therapeutic setting Strong knowledge of child development and trauma-informed practices. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Familiarity with military culture and the needs of military-connected families Responsibilities: Deliver instruction to students using evidence-based curriculum and strategies. Work closely with therapists, and educators to support students progress towards discharge criteria and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Provide ongoing support in developing student coping skills, conflict resolution techniques, and emotional regulation Assist in crisis de-escalation and restorative practices, in alignment with trauma-informed care principles. Track student data/progress toward goals while maintaining accurate documentation of lessons, behavioral observations, and communication with teams and families.
