Advises, tests, and teaches students in a variety of subjects. Plans, develops and oversees community outreach programs. Promotes programs through community networking and recruiting efforts; recruits and trains tutors and teachers. May coordinate and implement recruitment and retention programs, special events, and support services. May provide financial aid/scholarship advisement for targeted student populations.    A successful Jupiter Christian Teacher will:   Prioritize the student as the focal point of the classroom.  Commit to being both a learner and leader by identifying, exploring, evaluating, and adopting new digital resources and hands-on tools for learning.  Establish a learning culture that promotes curiosity and critical thinking and fosters digital literacy and media fluency.  Dedicate time to collaborate with colleagues and co-learn with students to create authentic learning experiences that leverage a number of resources including technology.  Design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability.  Foster a culture where students take ownership of their learning goals and outcomes in digital platforms virtual environments, hands-on makerspaces or in the field.    Minimum Job Requirements  Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.  Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  May require valid Florida State teaching license in secondary education in a specific area of expertise as appropriate.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills.   Ability to plan and implement promotional programs.  Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, testing, and/or teaching methodologies.  Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.  Spiritual  Must have a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior  Please check the school's website (www.jupiterchristian.org) regarding personal faith alignment to the JCS statement of Faith  Must be able to demonstrate active membership and involvement in a local church  Support Jupiter Christian School’s mission, vision and values by exhibiting excellence and competence, respect for others, humility, collaboration, innovation, accountability, and commitment to community.  Physical Limitations  Working Conditions and Physical Effort  No or very limited exposure to physical risk.  Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.  Light physical effort; requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 lbs or some standing and/or walking.
