Description
Responsibilities
Create a welcoming, inclusive, culturally responsive classroom environment that is conducive to student learning and their ability to comfortably share their authentic selves.
Teach to the World Language curriculum, and work cooperatively with a team to maintain a strong school program incorporating both state and district frameworks.
Incorporate into his/her teaching repertoire the teaching and learning strategies developed through the programs of WPS; implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.
Remain current by participating in ongoing professional development activities within and out-of-district, such as instructional technology.
Create rigorous standards-based units of instruction that are aligned with grade level standards.
Use successful, research-based instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction for diverse learners.
Regularly assess student abilities in order to design and implement strategies to enhance student learning.
Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to use research-based curriculum and principles of effective instruction.
Work with small groups of struggling learners, while modifying and differentiating instruction.
Diagnose and evaluate student abilities and progress through a variety of assessments in a timely and consistent manner; monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Provide progress reports as required.
Refer students for alternative services as provided by the District.
Participate in ongoing professional development activities within district and out-of-district.
Abide by state statutes, school board policies, district handbook, and regulations.
Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations.
Serve on school-wide committees, work in collaboration with colleagues, and help organize school-wide events.
