We are looking for a skilled and proactive Middle/Senior Database Administrator to oversee and optimize database environments across production, testing, and development systems. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring high database performance, maximum uptime, and robust backup and recovery processes.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Solid basic Unix/Linux knowledge, especially RHEL Enterprise Linux
  • Extensive experience with DB2 LUW versions 10.1, 10.5, and 11.5
  • Skilled in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries
  • Familiarity with DB2 utilities for maintenance and administration
  • Hands-on experience with DB2 in high-availability environments (e.g., pureScale)
  • Understanding of DB2 security mechanisms
  • Proficiency in backup and restore methodologies
  • Experience with tools typically found in DB2 environments
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duties after onboarding
  • An Upper-Intermediate level of English
  • German at native level
Responsibilities
  • Design and manage DB2 LUW servers
  • Build and operate a high-availability DB2 LUW environment, including pureScale
  • Use and manage standard DB2 Data Movement Utilities
  • Create and maintain DB2 database objects
  • Monitor and optimize SQL performance, especially for Java JDBC applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database and performance issues
  • Implement and manage DB2 security features to protect sensitive data
  • Support backup and recovery operations and strategies
  • Collaborate with other teams to support the database lifecycle in development, test and production environments
