JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Middleware DevOps Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL
REQUIREMENTS:
Understanding of web application architectures and their functional requirements – network, server, b2b integrations.
Knowledge of Apache web server, Tomcat, WebLogic and WebSphere.
Well versed in utilizing GIT and TFS repositories.
Experience with code compilation, packaging and deployment. Familiarity with ant and maven.
Experience with pipeline steps such as code scans, migrations, monitoring & alerting, logging.
Experience with release automation or code migrations tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, the Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Confluence), CA Release Automation (Nolio).
Experience with Docker and performing builds utilizing Docker images.
Experience in Linux shell scripting.
Ability to isolate and determine root cause; research and implement fixes.
Experience working on projects using Agile Scrum practice. Experience with tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps Boards for workload management.
Knowledge of ITSM standards and change management. Experience with Service Now tool.

Use base templates provided by GitHub shared services team.
Enhance templates as needed to facilitate middleware customizations.
Assist business application teams in implementing the designed pipeline on their repositories.
Troubleshoot repo and pipeline utilization issues reported by business teams.
Establish documentation and provide knowledge transfer to middleware support resources for BAU support.
Provide support on escalated issues.
