Your New Role and Responsibilities We are seeking a Senior Midrange Engineer to join our Digital Modernisation Division, working in some of the most complex, multi-vendor tech environments, alongside a supportive and collaborative team. This role requires technical expertise in server administration, particularly in Unix Linux AIX environments, database management, and hardware maintenance. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning. Responsibilities Extensive experience managing and troubleshooting Unix-based systems (Linux RHEL, AIX, Solaris), including server configuration, disaster recovery, and performance tuning. Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), associated tools, and capacity planning for optimal system performance. Skilled in database management within Unix/Linux environments, including performance troubleshooting and optimization. Proficient with enterprise backup solutions (e.g., IBM Storage Protect), storage technologies, and Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef). Experienced in mentoring junior staff, creating technical documentation, and sharing best practices in problem-solving and system design. About You Delivery experience as a Midrange Engineer, with strong stakeholder management and high-quality technical documentation skills. Certified in RHCSA and/or IBM Certified System Administrator – AIX, with expertise in server administration, virtualisation, and hardware maintenance. Skilled in database management and performance optimisation across complex environments. Proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous learning Willingness to participate in on-call support This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold a Baseline level security clearance.
