We are looking for a Certified Professional Midwife to join our birth center team. Specifically, we are looking for a midwife who:
Our Community Birth Center is a community-focused organization in Springfield/Eugene, Oregon. We provide full scope midwifery care in a birth center and clinic setting. Our services include pregnancy, birth, postpartum, ultrasound, newborn care, fertility, contraception, LGBTQI+ health care, primary care, and gynecology. Our Community Birth Center has been open and providing services since fall 2021 and during that time has established a robust and experienced team to support our midwifery work. Our Community Birth Center is located in the heart of the Eugene-Springfield area in Lane County, Oregon. It’s just a short drive to the ocean, mountains, desert, and many lakes and rivers. It’s also family friendly and has amazing food, farmers markets, and gardening. The birth center is located next to a beautiful public park and river allowing for fresh air and peaceful walks. Position type: Salary, non-exempt
Start Date: We are ready for a midwife to start October 2025; interested candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of their preferred start timeline.
Pay: $31 - $37 per hour depending on level experience and status of certifications/licensure. Plus $100 monthly on call stipend. Plus benefits (see below).
Relocation Benefit: $2,000 for relocation support (if relocation support is not needed this can be negotiated to a different purpose).

Hours: This position requires working days, nights, and weekends and includes a mix of on-call time, birth assisting and postpartum care, clinic work, admin work, care coordination, client education, and home-visits. This position also comes with Paid Time Off and holidays.
Expectations: 15 call days per month (counted in 24 hour shifts) as the second midwife / assisting midwife. When not attending a birth during these call days, the midwife will be expected to assist with other work. There will be 5 additional work days expected per month for other work. Other work includes: clinic work, postpartum homevisits, charting, lab review, administrative work, clinical support tasks, etc. Our practice averages 8-10 birth center due dates per month with a maximum of 15. The on call midwife must remain within 30 minutes of the birth center if labor may be imminent and within 60 minutes if no labors are anticipated.
