Description:
Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy. For the purposes of this vacancy, internal candidates are defined as staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded or ungraded contract, including Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), staff on Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP), and staff members on secondment/loan released by the Organization, unless otherwise specified in their contract. Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, the direct supervision of the National Project Officer, the Migrant Service Assistant will be responsible for providing effective and efficient assistance to beneficiaries of temporary protection with a specific focus on the needs related to movements from emergency accommodation to transitional accommodation settings.
Responsibilities: Support the implementation of the operational strategy of the project aiming to support BOTP’s in Ireland.
Undertake visits to assigned locations to carry out electronic registration, vulnerability screenings and follow up activities.
Disseminate key information to migrants. Carry out a mapping of services and assistance available to migrants in the local area and inform beneficiaries of all relevant services available. Refer cases with vulnerabilities identified as necessary.
Inform beneficiaries of their temporary accommodation assigned and assist in the coordination of logistics including transfer date.
Provide information session to migrants prior to transfer from emergency to temporary accommodation, accompany migrants during the transfer and ensure that migrants are aware how to access services in the new location.
Maintain and ensure confidentiality of all projects related matters in accordance with guidelines and instructions. Take active steps to mitigate fraud and malfeasance, and monitor the integrity of records containing individual data.

Qualifications: Education:
• School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
• University degree in Business Administration, Social Science or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database .
Experience:
• Proven experience in a similar setting & capacity. Experience in liaising with governmental, intergovernmental authorities and non-governmental organisations would be considered an advantage.
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Good knowledge of information technology and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher.
• Previous work experience in international organizations and service industry companies would be an advantage.
Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy & confidentiality in performing responsibilities.
• Strong interpersonal & intercultural skills with attention to detail.
Languages:
• Fluent in English (oral and written) is required.
• Fluent in Ukrainian or Russian.
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
