Responsibilities: Coordinate and lead patient groups and activities Facilitate or co-facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic activity groups Document care accurately in the medical record per established policies Complete patient observations as ordered, following all guidelines Encourage and assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) Complete 1:1 meetings with assigned patients to assess current status Provide clinical interventions based on individual patient needs Manage crisis situations using positive, therapeutic approaches Demonstrate effective milieu management to promote a safe and positive patient experience Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment Accompany patients to off-unit activities and appointments Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and maintain ongoing communication with appropriate staff Perform assigned work in a timely and productive manner Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counseling) required; other degrees considered with at least 12 Human Services credits Mental health experience and group/individual therapeutic activity experience preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to provide direct physical care to unpredictable behavioral health patients, including lifting, supporting, and moving equipment Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC) certification required within 60 days of hire or transfer Act 34 clearance required UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
