Job Description The COI (Captains of Industry) Buying People Leader will lead a team of buyers who sit in the Military IPT (Integrated Project Team) supporting multiple commodities for GE Aerospace. In this role, your team will manage requisitions, place purchase orders, and handle aspects of the quotation management. Your primary responsibility will be to lead, train & develop team members to meet Compliance, Quality, Delivery & Commercial standards for Captains of Industry hardware. This is a fully remote role on a cross-functional team focused on supporting our Defense Engines & Services business. Roles and Responsibilities Support and execute sourcing tasks and operations for all commodities as required Lead, train & develop team members to meet Compliance, Quality, Delivery & Commercial standards Analyze high level and detailed process steps to identify and drive continuous improvement Collaborate with suppliers to manage the lifecycle of the procurement process from RFQ, PO placement & PO management Review existing standard work and procedures. Identify opportunity and provide feedback for improvements Support team members in daily problem solving to win the day, week, month, etc. Develop strategies to improve efficiency of workflow Monitor team’s progress to business goals and support gap closure to targets Develop, execute and manage FLIGHT DECK action plans to address constraints in the process flow Consult People Leader or Sourcing Subject Matter Experts to support issue resolution Utilizes experience and judgement to solve problems Leverages skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems Analyzes large data sets to identify and deploy improvement strategies Prepare leadership presentations to support Weekly and Monthly Operating Reviews Minimal Travel 5-10% Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with at least 8 years of experience in Commercial Operations, Sourcing/Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management, Sales, Supply Chain, Project Management, Fulfillment or Contract Management roles or a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of experience in Commercial Operations, Sourcing/Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management, Sales, Supply Chain, Project Management, Fulfillment or Contract Management roles Desired Characteristics Experience in Buying, Managing Purchase Orders Exposure to Manufacturing Operations Prior People Leadership experience Servant People Leadership style Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative Problem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinker Preferred Characteristics Knowledge of GE Aerospace procurement processes and systems Experience in sourcing management, continuous improvement, and Lean Manufacturing (ideally FLIGHT DECK) Supply Chain Management and Sourcing experience FLIGHT DECK | Lean Experience This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
